A intenção era facilitar a leitura do código de barras a fim de evitar erros de digitação e de entendimento pela pessoa que registra essa informação nos cuponsfiscais das lojas.
Entretanto, ao menos comigo, ainda não tive oportunidade de usá-lo. Nenhuma empresa que visitei desde o lançamento do cartão está apta a ler o código de barras. Os supermercados, por exemplo, desenvolveram uma solução própria: o Pão de Açúcar solicita que o próprio cliente digite o CPF.
Por outro lado, ao menos os erros de compreensão diminuiram bastante, já que mostro o cartão ao caixa/atendente na hora do pagamento.
Espero que as empresas realmente comprem essa idéia, trazida do programa de São Paulo. Essa operação agilizaria bastante o procedimento.
A única questão é que para as empresas que emitem notas fiscais manuais, o cartão praticamente não serve. Já está mais que na hora de proibir esses documentos em papel....
Na minha opinião esse cartão é uma besteira. Agente fica esperando novas funcionalidades no sistema, sugere várias idéias interessantes, ai vem uma notícia que agora é possível imprimir um cartão.... Haja paciência.

Tirando o Pão de Açúcar onde vc mesmo digita, em todos os outros estabelecimentos tenho entregue o cartão antes de fazer o pedido/pagar a conta, pra não ter o clássico "vc devia ter fornecido o CPF antes".
